We have been working very hard this semester on our ICCA set! Of course we are still having fun though. After all, singing with one another and performing for you is what we love to do! Rehearsals have been focused primarily on our sound and choreography while taking breaks to discuss our new album name! That's right! All-night Yahtzee's newest album should be released in the next few months. Excited!?!? You should be because it is going to sound GREAT. We will be posting sample clips shortly so keep checking back for those :D

Not only that, we have been working on a Kick Start Video which you will hear more about very soon! Thanks to our previous music director Dave Girtman for creating the video!

The Acabelles, our sister group from Florida State University, will be competing tonight at SoJam! We were lucky enough to see their set and give them some feedback before they left for North Carolina. Their set was so powerful and energetic, they sounded AaAahHmazing! The line-up for tonight inculdes:

We wish the girls the best of luck! Acabelles are going to bring it!

First off, we have been having a lot of fun in rehearsals lately! As you can see, we (well most of us) decided to dress up for one of our practices just right after Halloween:

A.N.Y. with Mersadie dressed as a honey bee :)

That was definitely a blast! But we also have been relearning songs from our past rep like Lay Your Head Down by Peter Bradley Adams (soloist: PJ Wilford) which will be on our next album, You Found Me by The Fray (soloist: Chad Robin) which was on our 7th album Tesselate, and even the famous Disney Villians Medley from our Minor Adjustments CD.

  • You can view and purchase any of the past albums on our Music page!
  • Also we would gladly appreciate any amount of donations for our next album which we will be releasing this spring. Get excited :D

So what else you ask?

Well this past Sunday, we celebrated Chad's birthday. We also had rehearsal that day, and this is what happens when we decide to change up the syllables to one of our songs. Listen and you may laugh...

The original is beautiful of course! Watch this video of Katherine Dew performing Settle Down by Kimbra:

And speaking about birthdays, it is actually Daniel Colletti's birthday today. So wish him a happy birthday if you can! Our group would not sound as beefy without one of our amazing basses.

After hearing so many talented singers this past week, the new members have officially been chosen! Around 150 singers tried out for the group and here are the four new singers who made the cut:

Congratulations to Becca Cardenas, Noah Lubert, Zach Spoerl, and Chris Mora!

And so another year begins with our new Yahtzee babies. We have so much in store for all of you fans. We seriously can not wait to perform for everyone :D

Auditions are literally right around the corner, and we can't express how excited we are to hear all of the auditions.

A little information:
This upcoming Sunday, All-Night Yahtzee will be performing at the New Student Convocation at the Civic Center, welcoming the class of 2015. Please come out and support this year's incoming freshman and show them some school spirit! Following the Convocation, All-Night Yahtzee will then be performing at the President's Backyard BBQ, where students can come and enjoy free food, music, and other entertainment.

**At 5:30 pm, there will be an A Cappella Informational Meeting in room 313-314 in the Oglesby Student Union. Here, interested a cappella fans can come and learn everything there is to know about all of the exciting a cappella opportunities FSU has to offer. Along with learning as much as you want, All-Night Yahtzee will also be providing their audition sign-up sheets. Time slots are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. There are plenty of slots to chose from, though, so don't stress.**

Immediately following the A Cappella Informational Meeting, All-Night Yahtzee can be found at the Involvement Fair, part of Seminole Sensation Week, in the Student Union. We will have a table set up with flyers, a poster board, and our sign-up sheets. We might even have some tasty treats, so stop by our table and say hey, sign up for an audition, and get a little goody provided by us!

Auditions:
Auditions will be held August 29th and 30th from 5 pm to 10 pm. If you aren't able to come to the informational meeting or the involvement fair, we strongly encourage you to just stop by the audition room to sign up for a time on the door. As mentioned in previous posts, come prepared to sing a verse and chorus of your favorite song. We will vocalize you to get an idea of your range, and you'll be sent on your way! Once everyone has auditioned and we decide on who is called back, we will send an email out to everyone letting them know.

**If you are auditioning, please keep next Monday through Thursday evenings free! Please please please and thank you!**

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to email us at allnightyahtzee@gmail.com or send us a message on facebook. We will respond as soon as possible!

Again, we look forward to next week!

An early reminder!! Auditions for All-Night Yahtzee are coming up, and they will be held August 29th and 30th!! The room where they will be held is TBD, but will be posted as soon as we reserve it.

Audition Prep:
Come prepared to sing one verse and chorus of your favorite song! Considering we are a pop a cappella group, it would be advised to sing something off the radio or by an artist of the "pop" genre. Basically, we don't suggest coming in with a dramatic aria from your favorite opera, even though those are wonderful too. ;) Along with the singing portion of the audition, we will vocalize you to get an idea of your range and such. VERY LOW STRESS!! We're cool people; we don't bite! Auditions are always a little scary, so we strive to make the experience as comfortable and fun as possible!

There will be callbacks on the 1st of September, and the finalized list will be posted that evening!

Get excited because we are super stoked to hear each and every one of you!!!

ANYTHING IS ACCEPTED! :) Thank you guys so much, and I hope you will consider helping us get our music out to the public!
